Wikipedia - Höttur men's basketball

The Höttur men's basketball team, commonly known as Höttur, is the men's basketball department of the Icelandic multi-sport club Íþróttafélagið Höttur.

Ísťanský basketbalový tím Hottur Egilsstaðir je profesionálny basketbalový klub so sídlom v meste Egilsstaðir na Islande. Hrá v najvyššej islandskej basketbalovej lige Úrvalsdeild karla a jeho domovskou arénou je Íþróttahúsið Egilsstaðir.

Hottur Egilsstaðir bol založený v roku 1984 a odvtedy sa stal jedným z najúspešnejších basketbalových klubov na Islande. Klub získal 4 tituly majstra Islandu (1994, 1998, 2002 a 2009) a 5 pohárov Islandu (1994, 1998, 2002, 2009 a 2014).

Tím reprezentuje mesto Egilsstaðir, ktoré má približne 2 500 obyvateľov. Hottur Egilsstaðir je dôležitou súčasťou komunity a jeho zápasy pravidelne navštevujú stovky fanúšikov.

Klub v súčasnosti trénuje Henrik Runarsson a jeho prezidentom je Valgeir Gunnarsson. Medzi významných hráčov tímu patria Justin Raffington, Jón Arnór Stefánsson a Helgi Magnússon.
