Green Island AFC

Green Island is a semi-professional association football club in Green Island, Dunedin, New Zealand. They played and won in 2020 the ODT FootballSouth Premier League. Since 2021, they plays at Southern League (tier 2)

The Green Island Association Football Club was first formed and accepted into the Otago Football Association in 1896 as the Green Island Football club situated at Harroways ground Burnside. Disbanded during the war years and reformed in the late 1940s. The clubrooms were situated at Miller Park until the Abbotsford slip in 1979 forced the club to move to its present site at Sunnyvale.

They won the FootballSouth premier league (tier 3) in 2020.

Futbalový klub Green Island AFC je novozélandský futbalový klub so sídlom v meste Dunedin na južnom ostrove. Klub bol založený v roku 1910 a hrajie v Southern Premier League, najvyššej futbalovej súťaži na južnom ostrove. Domáce zápasy hrá na štadióne Sunnyvale Park.

Klub je známy svojou zelenobielou drese a prezývkou „Greenies“. Klub má dlhú a úspešnú históriu, vyhral množstvo titulov v Southern Premier League a tiež Chatham Cup, novozélandský národný futbalový pohár.

Green Island AFC je jedným z najuznávanejších futbalových klubov na Novom Zélande a vychoval niekoľko významných hráčov, vrátane All Whites (novozélandský národný tím) Toma Finneya a Williama Tuilagiho.
